GPS Almanac binary file creation within XploreME!
Hi,
I was just wondering if you can make GPS Almanac binary file creation within XploreME.
The source code from such application in C language is here: http://home.arcor.de/christian.motz/download/s2m12.zip
I wish something like that in Utilities in XploreME.
I've found that I can delete, move and copy file /a/mobile/system/LOCSP_NVM_ALMANAC.BIN within XploreME! (it's not system file)
I expect something like this:
1.
XploreME! would download the last semXXX.txt file (the biggest XXX
number) from http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/ftp/GPS/ALMANACS/SEM/
2.
Generate new binary file with GPS data from downloaded file (just like
attached link to sem2moto (application code needs to be translated from
C to J2ME - it's not simple and easy but shouldn't be so hard to
translate because it uses only standard mathematical transformations of
data in text file))
3. Replace /a/mobile/system/LOCSP_NVM_ALMANAC.BIN file with newly generated file
4. Reboot phone (optional - phone user can turn off and on the phone).
This would be great thing especially for travelling people - no need for computer to update GPS data in E1000.
With Regards,
Tom
